Bedding

There are a lot of types of bedding out there to choose from. We’ll cover the most common ones: duvets, comforters, and blankets.

Duvets and comforters the most common toppers, and are closely related, the main difference is that duvets are an insert (uses a cover a lot like a pillowcase), while comforters are not. Comforters are often easier to clean as a whole, while duvets rely on the cover for cleanliness.

Blankets are renowNed for their versatility and low expense compared to other options. They can come with a light filling material, or forgo the filling altogether. Additional layers of blankets can be used to increase the heat retention in colder climates. You can’t go wrong with a simple blanket!

Of course, don’t forget sheets! High quality sheets are one of the most important items to choose and can easily make or break a comfortable bed.

Pillows

Topping off your bedding or sofas, a set of pillows is a fantastic way to add an inviting air to your space. Whether purely decorative, purely functional, or somewhere in between, a good set of pillows are a welcome sight to travellers and visitors.

Fill Material

There are a variety of fill or batting materials to choose from. Cotton is a highly available, widespread classic fill. Breathable, durable, and strong even when wet.

Down filling is made from the softer, feather undercoat of birds, called the down feathers. This is an incredibly soft fill that holds in heat very easily.

Polyester (Poly-Fill) fills are a synthetic fill that is inexpensive, and machine washable.
